Sarah Palin Hung, Barack Assassination, My Friend Pete and The 30 Minute Ad

So earlier this week Chad Michael Morrissette, a man from West Hollywood, decided to decorate his home… I guess for the Halloween season.  His decoration?  Well it included a dummy of Sarah Palin hung by the neck and John McCain rising from the chimney (or the fiery pits of hell).  Needless to say this drew some negative attention.  After a few protest, media attention and yes a visit from the secret service Chad finally decided to take his decorations down.

According to reuters.com a woman who was obvioulsly upset over Chad’s display decided to create a display of her own that included “a dummy of… Barack Obama smeared in fake blood, apparently stabbed through the neck with a LARGE knife.”  Politics and Halloween always seem to bring out the best in everyone.

Bells Tennessee I also heard they were going to do all of this while wearing white tuxedos and top hats.  ”And you know what they say, when you’re great, It’s not murder, it’s assassinate…”  An assassination of any person that is trying to represent us free people would be tragic.  This just goes to further prove that some humans care more about religion, race and sadly even political parties than they do LIFE.  God forbid something happened to Barack.  If so, he has already sealed his legacy and nothing can change what he represents.

Just in case any of you feel like such attempts are out of the norm here is a little history on Presidential Assassinations and attempts.

Abraham Lincoln, James A. Garfield, William McKinley and John F. Kennedy were all assassinated.

Andrew Jackson, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy (prior to), Richard Nixon (twice), Gerald Ford (twice), Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton (twice) and George W. Bush (twice) had assassination attempts.

I am sure Barack Obama and John McCain both understand the dangers out there.

Time For Change

Who said the confederate flag represented hate?  Well, according to The Huffington Post, obviously not to Pete Martin of Virginia.  Pete doesn’t mind hanging his confederate flag next to his Obama/Biden sign.  According to pete, “…it’s about time for change, don’t you think?”  Pete goes to show you, what you think about the south is not all true.  Thanks PETE!!!

“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.” Coretta Scott King

That’s why I try my hardest to love as much as I can.  Why not?  This country has fallen hard, does it really matter what color the hand is that’s trying to pick it up?

Obama’s 30 Minute AD

I am sure by now most of you have heard that Barack Obama released a 30 minute ad during primetime television Wednesday.  The ad aired on: CBS, NBC, MSNBC, Fox, BET, TV One and Univision.  I’m not sure if you all realize it, but that is some serious media time.  Some say the ad probably cost Mr. Obama at least 3.5 million dollars.  I guess when your campaign is as rock solid as his you can do those kinds of things, with that kind of money.  None the less some are complaining that this is overkill and could hurt his campaign, although 10’s of millions of people viewed it.  Just in case you missed it… here is a youtube link to the ad.  You be your own judge.
