I Have A Dream And You Aint In It

I’m reading one of my favorite car magazines -Bimmer- and a guy says to me “I don’t read those magazines anymore, I got tired of dreaming about stuff I could never afford.”  My immediate thought was, if that’s his reasoning then what is the point in reading MAXIM?  I am sure I have a better chance at owning a 335i then this guy has at hooking up with Megan Fox, Shannon Elizabeth, Rebecca Romijn or any of the other hot ass MAXIM cover models.  It’s not about if you could actually ever touch it and own it, it’s about admiration and respect for form and build.  No not the models, the cars.  It’s the technology that gets me with cars.  A 2.4 Litre V8 smackin 19,ooorpm in the mouth…  niice.  But how did I answer this guy?  ”Gotta always dream.”

What happened to simply having a goal and letting nothing stop you from achieving it?  No mountain too high and no ocean too deep?  Sometimes I think people shoot down your dreams because they are afraid to dream themselves.  It’s also about priorities.  Should I buy 70 dollar shoes or go buy 70 dollars worth of food to give to the homeless shelter?  I think I will buy the shoes.  Why?  Cause that’s where my priorities are at.  And don’t even start throwing stones.  That is an example of how most of us would prioritize those two.  I would rather buy the shoes then buy and give food to a homeless shelter… hmmm

If I decided today that I wanted to become a millionaire and I had a thoughtful idea to make it reality, who is anyone to tell me it’s impossible?  Most people dream to go to college, get a 4 year degree, work, get married and have some kids.  Having a wife and kids would be awesome, but that is far from being on my list of priorities at the moment.

Now that I got my priorities straight, I am free to dream.  Dream about touching the clouds.  Dream about erasing hate.  Dream about ending these pointless wars.  Dream about space.  Dream about becoming a generation of new ideas.  Dream about life.

Dream Killers haha

Is there something wrong with high hopes?

I listen to the way people talk about Barack Obama and his hope.  ”Hope doesn’t fix problems.”  No my friend, hope inspires a fix.  Sometimes people just want to hear something positive and encouraging.  Positive thoughts help relieve stress.  When you aren’t stressed out and cracked out on XaNaX, hope can work wonders.

This is not to say that anyone can put a size on dreams.  A big dream for you may be a huge dream for me.  Either way, ALL people should be allowed to have dreams and aspirations without being looked down on.

My dream is to be the first man on Neptune… if all else fails maybe I will settle on the moon…
