Beginning Friday December 19th Chrysler will go into shutdown mode. Chrysler had originally announced a two week shutdown, but has extended it. All 30 Chrysler plants will be closed until mid to late January. Dealers say they are unable to close sales with buyers and the economic problems could result for 20-25% of those sales. “Very likely” is what the The White House said about a deal with congress concerning the auto bailout. Although no formal proposal has been made yet, the $15 billion deal could be made Monday.
